My advice to Baruch College is to starts to utilize new media by including online lecture. In Baruch if you miss the class for some reasons, you are in trouble especially if you have no friend there. I am not saying that student should not come to class. Baruch should keep the attendance policy. It’s only for students who can not come to college for some specific reason and this will be very helpful to all students at Baruch. I think it will be more helpful if Baruch College should have video lecture for some courses like math, accounting, etc. This way student can repeat the lecture and do well in these courses. I believe by doing this Baruch College can improve their students education quality if they use the online lecture through new media.
Also Baruch College has to start the professor’s evaluation online. Why de we have to cut the time from classes and waste paper on professor’s evaluations when it can be easily done online. Baruch College gets the result more quickly about evaluation and the result is also available to students fast.
Last but not least, Baruch has to improve Blackboard. Blackboard is the main platform for Baruch to be in touch with their students and professors also use Blackboard to post the information like power point slides and exams information. But most of the time, Blackboard goes under construction and is unavailable just when students need it.

I like your advice about having online video lecture. Once a student missed the class, even if they obtained notes from classmates, it is still difficult for them to understand the material without clear explanation, especially those calculation and accounting classes. So if baruch adds online video lecture, it will be very helpful since students can still catch up the class even though they were absent.
ReplyDeleteI think using online video lecture is a good advice because it will help students take notes from the video lecture. Although students can borrow classmates' notes, but it's not clear for other people, sometimes the notes might be too simple. So i support ur advice for baruch college students.
